Advanced Driving techniques

Would you like to improve your driving? Become safer? Save fuel? Have you recently passed your driving test or are anxious on the road?
Is the silver car pictured in a good position for the bend?
At DFA Training we can answer all of these questions, and explain why the silver is not in the correct position for the bend!
We offer online (via Teams) presentations on advanced driving techniques, and on the 'System of Car Control' helping you become a better, safer driver.
We cover all the key areas in Advanced driving, including Observation & Planning, Positioning and Hazard awareness.

Emergency Vehicle 'What to do' presentation

Have you recently passed your driving test, or are unsure of what to do when an emergency vehicle is approaching you on the road.
One of our highly trained emergency response instructors will teach you 'what to do'.
The 1-2 hour course is online via Microsoft Teams and will cover; The Highway Code, Legal exemptions, tactics employed by response drivers and examples of what to do to assist the safe progression of the emergency vehicle.

One to One driving appraisals and coaching

DFA Training offer one to one driving appraisals and coaching with one of our own Emergency response drivers.
The session will be you driving your own car with a response driver sat in the passenger seat offering helpful hints and tips on how to make you a better, safer driver.
The session will be based on your own requirements. This could be improving your observational skills, an overall driving refresher, hazard perception or building confidence on a dual carriageway or motorway.
We can explain and demonstrate to you why the silver car (pictured) is in the wrong position for this bend!

Interested in learning CPR or how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)? You're in the right place!

Whether you’re new to First Aid or need a refresher, our hands on courses give you the skills and confidence to act in an emergency.

You’ll learn how to respond and act to an unresponsive patient using the DRABC approach, perform effective CPR, and use an AED with confidence and the patient into the recovery position.

Our group sessions combine the theory with realistic, practical simulations—equipping you to respond quickly and potentially save a life at work, home, or in your community.

Do you own a taxi business, or have a fleet of vehicles?

Our Advanced Driving Tuition helps improve safety, reduce costs, and lowers emissions. Helping you to do your bit for the environment, often saving 10–15% on fuel.
We offer one-to-one practical coaching and instruction with a Grade A, ADI instructor, who is also qualified as a response driver either with the Ambulance Service or Police.
We also off group presentations covering key advanced driving techniques.​ and 'What to do' when an emergency vehicle approaches you on the road.​​​

Our Team.
Mike Martin

DFA Training is led by Mike, he is an Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instructor, and an Emergency Care Assistant (ECA) working on a Frontline Ambulance.
He holds a range of respected qualifications, including;
​
- Level 3 First Responder on Scene
- ECA Certificate,
- Level 3 CERAD (Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving)
- Level 4 DERADI (Diploma in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instructor)
- Resus Council Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor.
​- Teaching and assessing credentials (CAVA and CET).
